The parade will kick off around 4 p.m. from the Country Club Hills pool at 3622 Old Post Road.

Students and alumni will march north on Old Lee Highway, turning into to Fairfax High School, at 3501 Rebel Run.

City of Fairfax Police said:

"Drivers, please note: portions of Old Lee Highway will be closed from about 4-4:45 p.m. for the parade. Police officers and volunteers will be positioned along the parade route to assist in diverting traffic from the area. During this time, expect delays, and consider alternate routes."

Fairfax High Principal Dave Goldfarb told Patch, Homecoming at Fairfax High School is a time for students to celebrate their school spirit. Keeping with years of traditions, the Student Government plans a week-long spirit week,  a pep rally, a parade with class floats, and the crowning of a homecoming king and queen at halftime of the football game."

"At FHS, Homecoming is a time where everyone, both past and present, is excited to show their REBEL PRIDE!” Goldfarb continued.

Woodson Principal Jeff Yost also sent a message to local families, inviting them to come out and cheer on the Cavaliers in their parade, which begins at 4:30.

Woodson's parade route will be:

- Leaving Woodson onto Starlit Pond,
- Right on Pickstone
- Left on Weirich, down Olley Lane
- Right onto  Tartan View
- Turn Right onto Jan View as we head behind Woodson High School.
- Right onto Whitacre Road, and pull into the stadium parking lot.

"We can't wait to see you all," Yost said.
