The top headlines this past month were both happy and sad.

If there's one thing local Patch readers love, it's finding out about the latest and greatest new businesses opening up in town. American Bistro & Coffee Shop just opened up in town less than two months ago, but it's fast becoming locals' favorite new joint to grab a cup of coffee, a sweet pastry, or some tasty breakfast or lunch, and hang out.
