Could the Fairfax Area See Snow on Tuesday?

Weather forecasters are predicting a possibility that could impact traffic.

With a chance of rain and snow possible for the Tuesday morning rush hour, Fairfax could be in for some winter weather.

The National Weather Service has forecast a 30 percent chance of showers after 3 a.m. Tuesday, which could mix with snow after 5 a.m. The Capital Weather Gang gives the area a 40 percent chance, especially west and northwest of DC.

That mix could last through the morning, with the chance of snow flurries between 9 a.m. and noon. Tuesday should gradually become mostly sunny with a high near 41. Little or no snow accumulation is expected.
