Sensory-Friendly Santa at Fair Oaks Mall

Families of special needs kids have time with St. Nick just for them on Sunday.

Fair Oaks Mall in Fairfax has set aside time with Santa for children with sensory issues and other special needs.

The event will be from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Some children on the autism spectrum and with other sensory issues can be bothered by crowds and loud noises.

This event, organized by the group the Real Housewives of Northern Virginia and Parents of Autistic Children - Northern Virginia, will feature a visit to Fair Oaks' Ice Palace display (but with softer lighting and other sensory friendly adaptations).

Each family that attends will receive a complimentary photo package with Santa and a voucher for a complimentary 8x11 Snapfish photo book. Coffee and light refreshments will be served. Space is limited.
