Police Arrest Man Suspected of Robbing 3 City Businesses

A 27-year-old man has been linked to more than a dozen incidents in the region, including three in Fairfax City.

 

Fairfax County police have arrested a man they believe robbed more than a dozen businesses such as spas, nail salons and dry cleaners over the past week — three of them in Fairfax City.

Dennis Elliot, 27, of no fixed address, was charged with burglary on Thursday, police said in a statement. He was also charged with violating an outstanding probation.

Elliot allegedly robbed six Oakton businesses between last Sunday and Monday, May 19 and 20, all of them in the 2900 block of Chain Bridge Road, police said.

He also allegedly targeted three Fairfax City businesses during the overnight hours Tuesday.

Fairfax County detectives worked with Fairfax City police to identify and locate Elliot.

Elliot is in custody of Fairfax County police. A preliminary hearing has been set for Aug. 6.
