Photos: Fairfax City Celebrates 2013 National Night Out

Neighbors, police, fire and City officials had a great time out in the community Tuesday for National Night Out.

Porch lights were on, and parks were full Tuesday night as Fairfax City celebrated National Night Out.

Members of the police and fire departments, and even Animal Control, were out and about greeting residents and educating them about their departments and programs, and how neighbors can help each other create safer neighborhoods.

Neighbors filled tables with all manner of food and beverages and mingled, getting to know one another, while City officials like Chief of Police Rick Rappoport, Mayor Scott Silverthorne, City marketing director Joanna Ormesher, Councilmembers David Meyer, Ellie Schmidt and Michael DeMarco, and many others made their way from party to party greeting residents.
