Fairfax City Shows GMU Pride with New Road Decals

Fairfax City is now George Mason University country, and you only have to look at the streets to see it.

Earlier this month, five green and gold road decals reading “We Are Mason” were placed at five different intersections in Fairfax City.

City of Fairfax councilman and Mason alum Jeff Greenfield helped coordinate the efforts.

“I feel like you don’t always know that George Mason is right there,” Greenfield told George Mason University’s online magazine. “I want students, when they are coming to school, to know that they’re within a couple of miles from campus when they start passing over these decals.”

The logos were plans at five major intersections in the city.  The city and university are sharing the costs for the logos.
