FAIRFAX, VA (August 17, 2010) – Fairfax Swimming Pool (FSP) invites all dogs, accompanied by their owners, to jump on in during the Fourth Annual Doggie Splashdown.

The event begins on Labor Day, September 5, with gates opening at 7 p.m. and the pooches in the pool beginning around 7:15 p.m. A suggested donation of $5 per canine will be collected at the gate for the Humane Society of Fairfax County. Exact change would be appreciated.

“For the past three years, dogs have enjoyed a swim after our pool closes for the year,” says Hayden Codding, FSP president. “Last year’s event proved to be our most popular dog swim to date. We raised more than $300 for the Humane Society. We hope to surpass that amount with this year’s Doggie Splashdown.”

FSP invites the general community to attend the event. Because young children will be present and the pool is open to FSP members for swimming until 7 p.m., we ask that all dogs be kept on leashes until the event begins.

Fairfax Swimming Pool is located at 4200 Roberts Road in Fairfax, Va. Please contact Sarah Hamaker at 703-691-1676 or shamaker@verizon.net for more information about the Fourth Annual Doggie Splashdown.
