Cold Weather Closures and Delays in Fairfax for Wednesday, Jan. 8

Check on the latest announcements for school, government, recreation closures and delays for Wednesday, due to the cold weather.


Colder than usual weather conditions continue to have an impact in the Fairfax area for Wednesday, Jan. 8.

Schools


Fairfax County Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay Wednesday, Jan. 8, the school district announced.

Offices will open on time as usual.

Elementary schools will dismiss students at the usual time for a typical Tuesday-Friday schedule.

Trash/Recycling/Brush Pickup

City of Fairfax: Normal collection resumes today, Wednesday, Jan. 8.

Parks & Recreation/Senior Center Activities

City of Fairfax: All adult and youth classes and programs at The Sherwood Center and Green Acres, including the Senior Center, and the Baby & Me classes at Green Acres, will take place as normal on Wednesday, Jan. 8.

The Young at Heart Senior Trip planned for Wednesday Jan 8, will also take place as normal.
