2 Trees Down, Street Blocked; and Other Storm Effects in Fairfax City

Help your neighbors—let us know about any power outages, downed trees or blocked streets in your neighborhood.

A second tree has fallen, blocking Leonard Drive between Judicial and Maple in Fairfax City.

The first tree fell around midnight, and by morning, a second tree had fallen, said resident Sarah Major.

"Fairfax police responded quickly and secured the area around the tree," Major told Patch.

The photos above were taken by Major as she faced Judicial, with the jail in the background.

In addition, a resident of the Foxcroft Colony condominiums reported hearing "three loud booms" around 8 a.m. Monday, as the power went out. As of 12:30 p.m., the power was still out.
