Martial Arts After-School Program, Donations and Volunteers Needed, and More

Evolution Martial Arts is starting a new after-school program for local kids this fall. Students can be picked up from Daniels Run Elementary School and driven to the studio, located at 3848 Old Lee Hwy. Activities will include physical activity, games, homework help, and complimentary after-school snacks. Contact an instructor for more information and rates. Pathway Homes of Fairfax, which assists residents county-wide who suffer from mental illness, is in need of a passenger van to help transport patients. Do you have a student athlete in your family who is civic-minded and passionate about his/her community? The I Am Nation Campaign, which supports student athletes and pairs them with ways to give back, is hosting its “ColorMob Music and Giving Festival" in Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C. this Saturday, Aug. 17, 12-10 p.m. Volunteers are needed to help with carnival games, booths, the Battle of the Bands contest and more.
