The Shaolin Warriors bring the ancient art of Kung Fu to Fairfax and Manassas this weekend

This weekend, the Shaolin Warriors of China appear in Manassas and Fairfax with a spectacular new production called “Voices of the Masters.” “An eye-filling evening of ancient legends, ritual ceremonies and wondrous acrobatics,” raves the Washington Times about these dynamic warriors from the Far East, who bring a Family Friendly performance that will be enjoyed by children and adults alike.

Performed by devoted disciples of the Shaolin schools in China, these monks are recognized across the globe for their fierce martial arts prowess and tremendous self-discipline. From an early age, Shaolin monks undergo rigorous training in meditation, relaxation techniques and physical exercise to focus their minds and bodies.

“Voices of the Masters” showcases the diversity of this unique art form, and provides a rare glimpse into the daily lives of these Kung Fu masters and their Zen philosophy.

The Shaolin Warriors perform at the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas on Friday, Nov. 9 at 8 p.m. as part of its Hylton Presentsseason. The ensemble also appears at George Mason University’s Center for the Arts in Fairfax on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 11 at 4 p.m. as part of the Center’s Great Performances at Mason season. A pre-performance discussion, free to ticket holders, will be held 45 minutes prior to each performance.

These performances are Family Friendly and tickets for youth through grade 12 are half price when accompanied by an adult. Tickets can be purchased by calling 888-945-2468 or visiting HyltonCenter.org or cfa.gmu.edu, or visiting the box office for either venue. Free parking is available onsite at the Hylton Center and in Lot K for the Center for the Arts (paid parking is available in the Mason Pond Parking Deck adjacent to the Concert Hall).

Hi Passang,

The Shaolin Warriors, who performed at George Mason University's Center for the Arts last month on Nov. 10 & 11, do not have a website; however, they do have a Facebook page where you can find out more information about the ensemble: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Shaolin-Warriors-North-America/278938278883666?sk=info.

Thank you for reading!

Jill
