Yesterday's Rose Closes in Downtown Fairfax
The long-time thrift shop closed after one year in new location.
Yesterday's Rose shut down only a year after it opened its new location in downtown Fairfax.
Thrift store employees posted a farewell message to YesterdaysRose.org on Friday. The store held a 75 percent off fire sale up until it closed its doors at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
The website is no longer live.
Founded in 1981, Yesterday's Rose was a staple in Fairfax City. Its two stores, Yesterday's Rose and Rose II, spent 30 years selling lightly used clothes and items, filling hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours, and raising over $2.5 million for charity.
