Home Depot carries good rain barrels that can be hooked to your gutter downspout and used to water your plants. Other ideas: re-use and recycle (the city's programs are great), replace all light bulbs with cfl or high-efficiency options, replace aging windows and doors with efficient alternatives, and get a programmable thermostat to prevent wasted climate control when you aren't home.
