MLK Dedication Guide

No tickets needed for Sunday ceremony

Sunday marks the dedication of a stature to Nobel Peace Prize winner and American hero Martin Luther King.

A lavish celebration of the dedication was scheduled for August 28, the 48th anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington where Dr. King delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech. But Hurricane Irene arrived instead.

The dedication of the memorial is free and open to the public. No tickets are required. Sunday's dedication has been scaled back and many of the top names scheduled to appear in August, can no longer attend. President Obama is the main speaker.
