Help Fund High School Music Programs with Tag Day

Students will knock on doors for donations this Saturday.

Don't be surprised if a young band member rings your doorbell with tuba in tow. This Saturday marks the annual Tag Day for students in high school music programs.

Tag Day is a chance to donate funds for 2012-2013 school wind ensemble, symphonic, concert and marching band programs. Fairfax and Woodson High School students will knock on doors asking for money to help purchase music, repair and replace instruments, fund transportation to competitions and more.

"The students do not sell anything on Tag Day, they just go from house to house in their district asking for donations," said Cathy Crawford, communications chair for Fairfax High School Band Boosters. "If people are not at home, they leave an envelope with a 'tag' explaining what the donations are for. All donations given on Tag Day are tax deductible."
