Fairfax Man Injured in Apparent Base Jump from TV Tower

Anne Arundel County police charged two men with trespassing and are looking for a third suspect.

A Fairfax man suffered serious injuries to his legs after he attempted a base jump from a Maryland radio tower Wednesday afternoon.

Robert Scott Morgan, 25, of Andes Drive climbed the Maryland Public Television radio tower in Crownsville, Md. and attempted a base jump, but his parachute did not fully open, according to Anne Arundel County police.

Morgan was transported to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore at about 2 a.m. Wednesday, said fire department spokesman Chief Michael Cox.

A police spokesperson said officers found Sean Michael Bullington, 34, of Draper, UT at the scene. Bullington was charged with trespassing and providing a false statement to officers. Morgan was also charged with trespassing.

Fire officials said they discovered specialized gear typically used for base jumping, which involves jumping from fixed structures using a parachute.
